Ardmore: Zulu design

In all the coverage of Milan 2011 I managed to miss one of the more inspiring pieces: an upholstered couch by Ardmore, a South African ceramics and design studio that fosters the artistic practice of the Zulu people. Traditional and modern ceramic techniques are fused, and the results are so beautiful, mad and wonderful. The designs were recently transferred onto a textile medium, hence the couch – I just hope they continue this project as I would love some of that monkey print! HF.
